+T? underlying country flavour to it. Whilst once again presented
~ drS} V as a happy little song, there is more than a touch of
zH?! bitterness in his words. Funnily enough, the rather twee "The
V%7WUq Toothbrush Song" would also make a quality country song due to
?mwt ~_s9 its dry lyrics even if a cowboy would feel the need to
NR 5gj-B[ accompany such emotions with bourbon rather than sparkling
?/wm (uL mineral water.
} >pknc? 'Vzp2 The pace picks up with the title track "Off the Radar" that
acajHs truly highlights Mr Kerr's pop sensibilities and offsets his
?Ny9 'g>? laidback vocal delivery with some spirited guitar. Loves lost

}9Jg and won (mostly lost though? and a sense of reflection on his
.;y.]Z/; younger years seem a common theme to the songs in this album
Go`vfm"S and, indeed, regret is once more evident in "Is It Too Late to
)al]*[lY Work for NASA" even if it is disguised here with wry humour.
VZp5)-!\ If Bluesbunny closes his eyes, on "Mystery Star" Ally Kerr
guq{#?} seems to transform himself into Edinburgh master popsters
9Z@hPX3. Dropkick and there are certainly worse things to be than that.
n$MO4s8) If Bluesbunny had to pick a favourite track, it would probably
YFLZ %( be "Amorino" evoking, as it does, the melancholic pleasures of
s [RAHU heartbreak.
dc+>m,3$ !fV+z%: The thing that impresses most about this album is the songs
Avge eJi themselves. Well crafted and melodic with sharp and observant
j"t(0 m lyrics, they are however presented as a whole lot fluffier
BA @lk+aW than they actually are. It must be Ally Kerr's choice to do so
p,EQ#Ik but it does seem that he is deliberately avoiding giving any
*<$*"p kind of offense. Maybe he never gets angry himself - although
Q,,e+exbb5 his words suggest otherwise -but Bluesbunny feels that he is
0JWDtmK=C doing his own songs a disservice here by sprinkling an inch of
JK7G/]j+Ez icing sugar on everything. It is not necessary for everything
9@SC}AF. in life to have a cherry on top for it to be appetising.
:(E@Gf ]g#: KAqz Overall, this is a happy, upbeat album that is just a bit too
2 ~dE<} polite and well mannered to try and force itself upon your

v^sv<4*% your average Starbuck's decaf latte but it is perhaps fair
qJf?o.Pv comment to say that the omnipresent sugar coating will suit
wm+};L&_ his fans. However, and maybe this is a reviewer thing, a bit
