+Y accompany such emotions with bourbon rather than sparkling
c+#GX)zh\G mineral water.
2}1(j r ,|T@|{ The pace picks up with the title track "Off the Radar" that
<iiu% truly highlights Mr Kerr's pop sensibilities and offsets his
A\lnH5A laidback vocal delivery with some spirited guitar. Loves lost

Z and won (mostly lost though? and a sense of reflection on his
bAt%^pc=y younger years seem a common theme to the songs in this album
~!j1</$_ and, indeed, regret is once more evident in "Is It Too Late to
?Jm/v%0O
Work for NASA" even if it is disguised here with wry humour.

Z If Bluesbunny closes his eyes, on "Mystery Star" Ally Kerr
{<ymL} seems to transform himself into Edinburgh master popsters
n NZq`M Dropkick and there are certainly worse things to be than that.

\]l( If Bluesbunny had to pick a favourite track, it would probably
iN5~@8jAzz be "Amorino" evoking, as it does, the melancholic pleasures of

+w:[By" The thing that impresses most about this album is the songs
&G5+bUF, themselves. Well crafted and melodic with sharp and observant
Q<P],}?: lyrics, they are however presented as a whole lot fluffier
~d?7\:n than they actually are. It must be Ally Kerr's choice to do so
S *? 'y but it does seem that he is deliberately avoiding giving any
%JBp~" kind of offense. Maybe he never gets angry himself - although

X his words suggest otherwise -but Bluesbunny feels that he is

22 doing his own songs a disservice here by sprinkling an inch of
"T?% 4^:g icing sugar on everything. It is not necessary for everything
7EOn4I2@[ in life to have a cherry on top for it to be appetising.
W@AZ<(RI: :D} xT] Overall, this is a happy, upbeat album that is just a bit too
8V`r*:\ polite and well mannered to try and force itself upon your
'g^;_=^G affections. The production and arrangements are smoother than
BQ,]]}e43z your average Starbuck's decaf latte but it is perhaps fair
X3 ". comment to say that the omnipresent sugar coating will suit
+dS e" W9 his fans. However, and maybe this is a reviewer thing, a bit
HviL4iO of fire and even some unpredictability would have been
ko@I]gi2 welcome. Then again, the Bluesbunny was always a quadruple
