~QAc At the age of six Ayo. played the violin for a short
(~/VP3.S time, then turned to the piano and later taught herself
~mc7O to play the guitar. When she was about 15, she wrote her

`d# l o her to cope with her traumatic childhood. Her musical
_//)|.6c3 taste was influenced by her father's large selection of
u 49zc9 vinyl albums which included Pink Floyd, Fela Kuti, Donny
\oF79 Hathaway, Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. When her father,

P&3' N~k- in Germany, discovered her singing talent he recorded a

k Paris and New York. During her time in Paris her musical
uhL+bj+W talent was noticed by a broader audience, and she gave
4 vwa/? her first solo concerts, opened 2002 for soul singers
wZVY h Omar and Cody Chesnutt, and signed a contract with

O Polydor Records.

Pb} U'S}7gya Shortly after giving birth to her son Nile, she recorded
FL!W oTB her first album Joyful in January 2006 in the New York
I%^Ks$<" Sony studio. The whole disc was recorded in just five
t4pc2b days under live conditions, with a group of musicians
}l&Uh &B` organized by her producer Jay Newland. The album was
kM5N #|! released in June 2006 in Europe and Korea and in November
$$~x: iN 2007 in the United States and Japan.
( &0%![j& ;T~] |#T\6 At the end of 2007 Ayo. started a concert tour through

GC Germany and the United States. On her American tour she
L<!}!v5ja performed with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. On 10 January
xaSvjc\ 2008 she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman,

and on January 26, 2008 the Late Late Show with Craig
b'Qia'a% Ferguson, performing her song Down on My Knees. In June
PHl{pE* 2008 the singer started her second tour through the
q}>1Rr|U` United States and Canada.
|t*(]U2O0 Tw yx(~'&R On 10 March 2008 Ayo. started recording on her second
!"/]<OQ album Gravity At Last at the Compass Point Studios in
QU^*(HGip Nassau on the Island of New Providence, The Bahamas. She
py.lGywb_ is co-producing the album with Jay Newland. Her band
6s\niro2 includes Keith Christopherson (bass), Larry Campbell
CI"7* z_ (guitars and other string instruments), Lucky Peterson
)&] gX (keyboards), Sherrod Barnes (guitar/vocals) and Jermaine
$& /JY Parrish (drums). The album with 13 tracks written and
)I'?]p< composed by the singer was recorded in only 5 days and
~> &7~N8 will be released at the end of September 2008 by
