Opening the album is "Could Have Been a Contender" - all $3psSQQo  
polished pop perfection that brings back memories of the .!/w[Z]  
jaunty hits of the Housemartins and their catalogue of :qy < G!o  
intelligent and catchy songs. "I Think I'm Bleeding" has an wIeF(}VM  
underlying country flavour to it. Whilst once again presented ,6@ s N'c  
as a happy little song, there is more than a touch of &|MdBJ   
bitterness in his words. Funnily enough, the rather twee "The vJI]ZnL{  
Toothbrush Song" would also make a quality country song due to )seeB

its dry lyrics even if a cowboy would feel the need to 6,Z.RT{5  
accompany such emotions with bourbon rather than sparkling V?t56n Y}

The pace picks up with the title track "Off the Radar" that %/;*Ewwb  
truly highlights Mr Kerr's pop sensibilities and offsets his vd

laidback vocal delivery with some spirited guitar. Loves lost { gT4Oq__  
and won (mostly lost though? and a sense of reflection on his "zE>+zRl  
younger years seem a common theme to the songs in this album \gCh'3  
and, indeed, regret is once more evident in "Is It Too Late to CWdpF>En  
Work for NASA" even if it is disguised here with wry humour. :;Xh`br  
If Bluesbunny closes his eyes, on "Mystery Star" Ally Kerr R,8 W7 3  
seems to transform himself into Edinburgh master popsters 0?,<7}"<X  
Dropkick and there are certainly worse things to be than that. `;Od0u

If Bluesbunny had to pick a favourite track, it would probably u u$Jwn!S  
be "Amorino" evoking, as it does, the melancholic pleasures of %w#z

The thing that impresses most about this album is the songs ]P*H,&I`#  
themselves. Well crafted and melodic with sharp and observant @6kkt~>:  
lyrics, they are however presented as a whole lot fluffier M{t/B-'4  
than they actually are. It must be Ally Kerr's choice to do so De ([fC  
but it does seem that he is deliberately avoiding giving any oD3]2o/  
kind of offense. Maybe he never gets angry himself - although |

his words suggest otherwise -but Bluesbunny feels that he is PDpuHHB  
doing his own songs a disservice here by sprinkling an inch of P>EG;u @.  
icing sugar on everything. It is not necessary for everything emHaZhh  
in life to have a cherry on top for it to be appetising. =5O&4G`}

Overall, this is a happy, upbeat album that is just a bit too ky{@*fg.  
polite and well mannered to try and force itself upon your Y,m=&U  
affections. The production and arrangements are smoother than  c`}YL4  
your average Starbuck's decaf latte but it is perhaps fair #Cb~-2:+7  
comment to say that the omnipresent sugar coating will suit Wb5n> *  
his fans. However, and maybe this is a reviewer thing, a bit VVe^s|~Z  
of fire and even some unpredictability would have been '#
