IiZ&Pr intelligent and catchy songs. "I Think I'm Bleeding" has an
-mRA# underlying country flavour to it. Whilst once again presented
FKT1fv[H as a happy little song, there is more than a touch of
ui@2s;1t bitterness in his words. Funnily enough, the rather twee "The
; uW}`Q< Toothbrush Song" would also make a quality country song due to

'N+-T3 its dry lyrics even if a cowboy would feel the need to
%"af748!+D accompany such emotions with bourbon rather than sparkling
IjR'Qou 5 mineral water.

W }"2 yRiP{$E The pace picks up with the title track "Off the Radar" that
&'DU0c& truly highlights Mr Kerr's pop sensibilities and offsets his
^ 8@Iyh laidback vocal delivery with some spirited guitar. Loves lost
|'{zri|A" and won (mostly lost though? and a sense of reflection on his
aMvI?y { younger years seem a common theme to the songs in this album

<Q5;J&; and, indeed, regret is once more evident in "Is It Too Late to
)I$q 5%q8 Work for NASA" even if it is disguised here with wry humour.
w );6K[+; If Bluesbunny closes his eyes, on "Mystery Star" Ally Kerr

@$2))g` be "Amorino" evoking, as it does, the melancholic pleasures of

`zE}1M%y |7}C QU The thing that impresses most about this album is the songs
a'jR#MQl? themselves. Well crafted and melodic with sharp and observant
?zsB6B?; lyrics, they are however presented as a whole lot fluffier
8krpowVs~ than they actually are. It must be Ally Kerr's choice to do so
cPU/t kc but it does seem that he is deliberately avoiding giving any
rn=m\Gv
e kind of offense. Maybe he never gets angry himself - although
sSQs#+ &=[ his words suggest otherwise -but Bluesbunny feels that he is
r,Nq7Txn? doing his own songs a disservice here by sprinkling an inch of
y(=#WlK } icing sugar on everything. It is not necessary for everything
LJ(1RK GCz in life to have a cherry on top for it to be appetising.
A^2Uzmzl? &g~ wS@ Overall, this is a happy, upbeat album that is just a bit too
KhW;RD polite and well mannered to try and force itself upon your
$LLA,?;! affections. The production and arrangements are smoother than
t6A:Z mG_ your average Starbuck's decaf latte but it is perhaps fair
