underlying country flavour to it. Whilst once again presented

4 < bitterness in his words. Funnily enough, the rather twee "The

D &Im Toothbrush Song" would also make a quality country song due to
-hpJL\ng its dry lyrics even if a cowboy would feel the need to
P`$"B0B) accompany such emotions with bourbon rather than sparkling

g+xA 0q W truly highlights Mr Kerr's pop sensibilities and offsets his
06dk K )` laidback vocal delivery with some spirited guitar. Loves lost
> kLUQ%zE@ and won (mostly lost though? and a sense of reflection on his
Gop;!aV1* younger years seem a common theme to the songs in this album
u0M? l and, indeed, regret is once more evident in "Is It Too Late to
GF3"$?Cw Work for NASA" even if it is disguised here with wry humour.
v p>,}nx4 If Bluesbunny closes his eyes, on "Mystery Star" Ally Kerr
g3`:d)| seems to transform himself into Edinburgh master popsters

$ be "Amorino" evoking, as it does, the melancholic pleasures of
" 0&+ `7 heartbreak.
<A _L Zi wj'5D0 The thing that impresses most about this album is the songs
&QoV(%:] themselves. Well crafted and melodic with sharp and observant
~G ;lEp lyrics, they are however presented as a whole lot fluffier

E than they actually are. It must be Ally Kerr's choice to do so
*_a eK~du. but it does seem that he is deliberately avoiding giving any
x2KIGG ^ kind of offense. Maybe he never gets angry himself - although
O$2'$44HX his words suggest otherwise -but Bluesbunny feels that he is
b\dzB\,& doing his own songs a disservice here by sprinkling an inch of
etPb^&#$ icing sugar on everything. It is not necessary for everything
EzXGb in life to have a cherry on top for it to be appetising.

SG)hrd affections. The production and arrangements are smoother than

of fire and even some unpredictability would have been
