Opening the album is "Could Have Been a Contender" - all n1!}d%:  
polished pop perfection that brings back memories of the VGYx(  
jaunty hits of the Housemartins and their catalogue of 12i<b  
intelligent and catchy songs. "I Think I'm Bleeding" has an *5QN:  
underlying country flavour to it. Whilst once again presented f7lt|.p  
as a happy little song, there is more than a touch of adcH3rV  
bitterness in his words. Funnily enough, the rather twee "The -Qy@-s $  
Toothbrush Song" would also make a quality country song due to H|Y*TI2vf8  
its dry lyrics even if a cowboy would feel the need to U#iGR5&^3  
accompany such emotions with bourbon rather than sparkling a1>Tz

The pace picks up with the title track "Off the Radar" that HUFm@?  
truly highlights Mr Kerr's pop sensibilities and offsets his =Lh8#>T\h  
laidback vocal delivery with some spirited guitar. Loves lost |C"zK  
and won (mostly lost though? and a sense of reflection on his 9xN`  
younger years seem a common theme to the songs in this album HJi FlL3  
and, indeed, regret is once more evident in "Is It Too Late to b FMBIA|  
Work for NASA" even if it is disguised here with wry humour. <e?1&56  
If Bluesbunny closes his eyes, on "Mystery Star" Ally Kerr S.z

seems to transform himself into Edinburgh master popsters @tX8M[.eA  
Dropkick and there are certainly worse things to be than that. U!GfDt  
If Bluesbunny had to pick a favourite track, it would probably 3v91yM

be "Amorino" evoking, as it does, the melancholic pleasures of

The thing that impresses most about this album is the songs MpVZ L29)  
themselves. Well crafted and melodic with sharp and observant [t6Y,yo&h4  
lyrics, they are however presented as a whole lot fluffier _,<@II   
than they actually are. It must be Ally Kerr's choice to do so ~eZ]LW])  
but it does seem that he is deliberately avoiding giving any Z,~PW#8<&  
kind of offense. Maybe he never gets angry himself - although h+c
 9FN  
his words suggest otherwise -but Bluesbunny feels that he is i*]$_\yl"  
doing his own songs a disservice here by sprinkling an inch of dEI]|i r  
icing sugar on everything. It is not necessary for everything {UFs1  
in life to have a cherry on top for it to be appetising. *`_2uBz

Overall, this is a happy, upbeat album that is just a bit too H -K%F_#  
polite and well mannered to try and force itself upon your [ KDNKK  
affections. The production and arrangements are smoother than aKFY&zN?  
your average Starbuck's decaf latte but it is perhaps fair >g;995tG  
comment to say that the omnipresent sugar coating will suit +MtxS l  
his fans. However, and maybe this is a reviewer thing, a bit 7<*,O&![|  
of fire and even some unpredictability would have been JA$RY  
welcome. Then again, the Bluesbunny was always a quadruple S-[S?&c`
