b #U%aPH bitterness in his words. Funnily enough, the rather twee "The
/km3L7L%R Toothbrush Song" would also make a quality country song due to

~J0 its dry lyrics even if a cowboy would feel the need to
;CZcY] ol accompany such emotions with bourbon rather than sparkling
BYf" l8^, mineral water.

/{va< CL The pace picks up with the title track "Off the Radar" that
/0uinx truly highlights Mr Kerr's pop sensibilities and offsets his
eH8.O laidback vocal delivery with some spirited guitar. Loves lost

) and won (mostly lost though? and a sense of reflection on his
5=986ci$U younger years seem a common theme to the songs in this album
AVWrD[ wD2 and, indeed, regret is once more evident in "Is It Too Late to
IA4(^ -9 Work for NASA" even if it is disguised here with wry humour.

]l'ki8 themselves. Well crafted and melodic with sharp and observant
{@%(0d{n} lyrics, they are however presented as a whole lot fluffier

gL% than they actually are. It must be Ally Kerr's choice to do so
WXU6 J?tIm but it does seem that he is deliberately avoiding giving any
6f!mk:\T. kind of offense. Maybe he never gets angry himself - although
"tARJW his words suggest otherwise -but Bluesbunny feels that he is
L /> GYx doing his own songs a disservice here by sprinkling an inch of
POXn6R!mM1 icing sugar on everything. It is not necessary for everything
MvmP["%J4_ in life to have a cherry on top for it to be appetising.
~B@o?8D] R2`g?5v Overall, this is a happy, upbeat album that is just a bit too
(^9M9+L[i polite and well mannered to try and force itself upon your
;I'/.gW;{ affections. The production and arrangements are smoother than
nL!@#{ z your average Starbuck's decaf latte but it is perhaps fair
B v c=gW comment to say that the omnipresent sugar coating will suit
%5gJ6>@6Z his fans. However, and maybe this is a reviewer thing, a bit
-pu\p-Z of fire and even some unpredictability would have been
tW>R 16zq welcome. Then again, the Bluesbunny was always a quadruple
