Opening the album is "Could Have Been a Contender" - all (m.ob+D  
polished pop perfection that brings back memories of the 2FF4W54I  
jaunty hits of the Housemartins and their catalogue of 8:>1F,  
intelligent and catchy songs. "I Think I'm Bleeding" has an <2|O:G  
underlying country flavour to it. Whilst once again presented OK6]e3UO  
as a happy little song, there is more than a touch of ;04Ldb1{|3  
bitterness in his words. Funnily enough, the rather twee "The lBhLf@  
Toothbrush Song" would also make a quality country song due to X1Ac*oLN  
its dry lyrics even if a cowboy would feel the need to zj`v?#ET  
accompany such emotions with bourbon rather than sparkling pUq1|)g

The pace picks up with the title track "Off the Radar" that H]p!\H  
truly highlights Mr Kerr's pop sensibilities and offsets his "@d[h,TM  
laidback vocal delivery with some spirited guitar. Loves lost wsN?[=l{s  
and won (mostly lost though? and a sense of reflection on his ? glSC$b  
younger years seem a common theme to the songs in this album IOoz^/'  
and, indeed, regret is once more evident in "Is It Too Late to j!4et;  
Work for NASA" even if it is disguised here with wry humour. jJY"{foWV  
If Bluesbunny closes his eyes, on "Mystery Star" Ally Kerr f3{MvAy[  
seems to transform himself into Edinburgh master popsters mc_ch$r!

If Bluesbunny had to pick a favourite track, it would probably x2z;6)  
be "Amorino" evoking, as it does, the melancholic pleasures of 'u_t<F]b

The thing that impresses most about this album is the songs @,u/w4  
themselves. Well crafted and melodic with sharp and observant PSVc+s[Q+V  
lyrics, they are however presented as a whole lot fluffier {R61cD,n  
than they actually are. It must be Ally Kerr's choice to do so g'=B%eO$j:  
but it does seem that he is deliberately avoiding giving any c`WHNky%j  
kind of offense. Maybe he never gets angry himself - although WxJf{=-  
his words suggest otherwise -but Bluesbunny feels that he is )m{Ye0!RD  
doing his own songs a disservice here by sprinkling an inch of TJ'[--  
icing sugar on everything. It is not necessary for everything 'XofD}dm  
in life to have a cherry on top for it to be appetising.

Overall, this is a happy, upbeat album that is just a bit too C,NxE5?h  
polite and well mannered to try and force itself upon your 9D}/\jM  
affections. The production and arrangements are smoother than ,FMx5$  
your average Starbuck's decaf latte but it is perhaps fair $:j G-r  
comment to say that the omnipresent sugar coating will suit EV^~eTz  
his fans. However, and maybe this is a reviewer thing, a bit CQr<N w  
of fire and even some unpredictability would have been f0< %&2ym  
welcome. Then again, the Bluesbunny was always a quadruple ]oV{t<0a
