foreboding that, curiously, never threatens to spoil the ]Ndy12,M  
listening pleasure. This could be because Wilson has, over the 6  o  
course of three albums, engineered the knack of mixing *]/iL#  
dispiriting topics with a surefooted musical approach that ]'n4e*

Some people don't get Duke Special. They are put off by his vx7=I\1  
appearance, which resembles a blend of Catweazle, a Grafton tKyGD|g S  
Street busker and the child catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang [&P@0Fn  
Bang . They're also confused by his music, which owes as much *BrGh
 
to burlesque and music hall as it does to pop. Those put off gT=pO`a  
by such superficialities miss the most important aspect of Y6Y"fb%K  
Wilson's shtick: his forensic attention to detail. 9BlpqS:P&

So forget the gender-skewing dreadlocks and eyeliner. Here is H;<>uELie  
a guy who matches the lost art of the popular song with the pdFO!A_t  
found sound of swirling pop/rock and symphony orchestras. With ^uG^>Om*  
a bit of Bridie Gallagher thrown in for good Irish measure K:XP;#OsP
