)GC9%mF; underlying country flavour to it. Whilst once again presented
x $@Gp as a happy little song, there is more than a touch of
jMV9r-{*+ bitterness in his words. Funnily enough, the rather twee "The
%Xfy
.v Toothbrush Song" would also make a quality country song due to
2QN ~E its dry lyrics even if a cowboy would feel the need to
s=BJ7iU_68 accompany such emotions with bourbon rather than sparkling
.WV5Gf) mineral water.
t<DZW# WH6Bs=G\} The pace picks up with the title track "Off the Radar" that
o NqIrYH' truly highlights Mr Kerr's pop sensibilities and offsets his
]XS[\qo
laidback vocal delivery with some spirited guitar. Loves lost
)U5Ba^"fI and won (mostly lost though? and a sense of reflection on his
XQhbH^ younger years seem a common theme to the songs in this album
Fk*C 8 and, indeed, regret is once more evident in "Is It Too Late to
t 8,VR FV Work for NASA" even if it is disguised here with wry humour.

.F Wi$B'; ~qu}<u)P The thing that impresses most about this album is the songs
8`GN8 F themselves. Well crafted and melodic with sharp and observant
(ibj~g?U, lyrics, they are however presented as a whole lot fluffier
N}rc3d# than they actually are. It must be Ally Kerr's choice to do so

_ but it does seem that he is deliberately avoiding giving any

56 kind of offense. Maybe he never gets angry himself - although
$z[r (a^a his words suggest otherwise -but Bluesbunny feels that he is

icing sugar on everything. It is not necessary for everything
e X3|<Bf in life to have a cherry on top for it to be appetising.
1k dQh&~G t YST&5Kh~ Overall, this is a happy, upbeat album that is just a bit too
<]wQ;14;H polite and well mannered to try and force itself upon your
$s,Az_bs affections. The production and arrangements are smoother than
{wwkbc* your average Starbuck's decaf latte but it is perhaps fair
/)/>/4O comment to say that the omnipresent sugar coating will suit
9JBVG~m+ his fans. However, and maybe this is a reviewer thing, a bit

]z3 of fire and even some unpredictability would have been
<<~swN welcome. Then again, the Bluesbunny was always a quadruple
